Everyone is welcome here
The Shared World Project does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, ethnicity, ancestry, age, sex, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, marital or family status, pregnancy, religion or belief, disability, medical condition, genetic information, citizenship, or veteran or military status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state, or local law.
This policy applies to everyone we work with: the people and communities we serve, volunteers, donors, partner organizations, people completing court-ordered community service, board members, and employees. It covers our programs, services, volunteer opportunities, partnerships, hiring, and governance.
Faith is never a condition of service
The Shared World Project is the charitable arm of Netism, but you never have to join Netism, hold any particular belief, or take part in any religious activity to volunteer, donate, partner with us, receive help, or complete service hours. Our public programs are open to people of every faith and of no faith. We do not require participation in worship or religious instruction as a condition of receiving any service.
Equal opportunity
We make decisions about volunteers, staff, partners, and program participants based on merit, need, safety, and fit for the work, never on protected characteristics. We are committed to providing reasonable accommodations so that people with disabilities can take part in our programs and volunteer opportunities.
Raising a concern
If you believe you have experienced or witnessed discrimination in any Shared World Project program or interaction, please tell us. Email hello@sharedworldproject.com or reach us through our contact form. We take every report seriously, we will not retaliate against anyone who raises a good-faith concern, and we will respond promptly.
